Our Story
The Van Days
Every good hunt starts somewhere. Ours started in a van. In the early 1980s, Kevin Reilly was living the treasure-hunter life before it had a name. He drove between New Jersey, California, and Florida beaches, making metal scoops by hand out of his van.
X Marks the Spot
In 1981, Kevin settled in Pompano Beach, Florida and opened a warehouse to fabricate what would be known as RTG Scoops. First named, Kevin Reilly’s Treasured Gold, in 1988, he incorporated as Reilly’s Treasured Gold and it’s been a household name ever since. Kevin’s secret treasure finds funded a business built on American heritage and products built to last.
The Legacy Continues
In 2009, the Reilly family continued to run the shop with Kevin’s niece, Laraine eventually taking on the reins. Reilly’s operated from the same Pompano Beach warehouse for years before upgrading to a bigger facility to meet demand.
Same Spirit, New Chapter
In 2017, Vanessa and Byron Serna discovered treasure hunting. They explored Florida’s Treasure Coast and became regular visitors at Reilly’s, forging a friendship with Laraine.
One day, Vanessa half-joked, “If you ever think about selling the business, let us know.” Laraine remembered. In 2025, Vanessa and Byron became the new stewards of the renamed Reilly’s Treasured Goods — a family committed to honoring its history, preserving its trusted name, and carrying its legacy forward for the next generation of treasure hunters.
Today, they run Reilly’s with their son Sebastian, Axl, the French bulldog, and a black cat who wandered into the shop, whom they naturally named Reilly.
